New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday rejected former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's accusation that 'India was responsible for killings in their country'. The imprisoned Pakistani politician, in a column published in a UK daily, claimed, "India has already admitted to undertaking assassinations inside of Pakistan and the international border with Afghanistan remains volatile."
Jaishankar, in a press interaction in Bhubaneswar, responded to Khan's article by asserting that "Pakistan has an abundance of terrorists and individuals involved in criminal activities."
Jaishankar further highlighted that "reports suggest some individuals with a background in terrorism have died under unusual circumstances and it is a matter that Pakistan needs to investigate."
“What is happening in Pakistan, there is no shortage of terrorists and people involved in crimes out there. Now, from what we can see there are reports that some people who have a background in terrorism, some of them died in pretty unusual circumstances. That is something they need to investigate,” the External Affairs Minister said.
Deepening his attack on Pakistan, the External Affairs Minister stated that our neighboring nation should first address the question of why there are so many terrorists within their borders and why the country is so protective of them.
“First, they need to answer why there are so many terrorists in Pakistan. Terrorists are not very nice people. They could be doing things to each other. I am not entirely aware of the Khan article. But I do know rather than saying why these people are dying, I would first ask why there are so many terrorists in Pakistan. And why is Pakistan so protective of them. that is the question, which should be answered,” Jaishankar said as quoted by TOI.
