Zeigler Subaru will soon celebrate the grand opening of its its new dealership in Schererville.
The auto dealership, formerly known as Zeigler Subaru of Merrillville and International Subaru of Merrillville before that, moved a few miles west from its Merrillville location to a newly constructed showroom on the north side of U.S. 30, west of Burr Street, in Schererville. Zeigler Subaru of Merrillville changed its name to Zeigler Subaru of Schererville when it moved to the new facility at 6000 Lincoln Highway.
Subaru of America President and Chief Operating Officer Jeff Walters and Zeigler Auto Group president and CEO Aaron Zeigler will attend a grand opening celebration at the dealership at 5 p.m. May 6.
“We are very excited to have our newest store in Schererville, one of the best places to live in Indiana. Zeigler Subaru of Schererville has a great location, a great staff and a beautiful new showroom. We look forward to offering our customers the best service in the business and making this a highly successful store,” said Zeigler.

The grand opening will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live entertainment, complimentary food and drinks and raffles for NASCAR passes and goods like a Subaru tent, cornhole cooler and rugged Bluetooth speaker. Zeigler Auto Group's hot air balloon and a Subaru World Rally car will be available for photo ops.
It's a larger location on a 15-acre site that sets aside three acres for wetland preservation.
The 37,000-square-foot dealership includes a 10,000-square-foot showroom and a 14,000-square-foot service shop. It has a 23-bay service shop with three lanes and three bays for quick oil changes.
The new dealership also features a conference center, car wash and dog park customers can use.

Zeigler Subaru of Schererville will present a donation at the grand opening to the nonprofit Chasing Dreams, which helps people with disabilities gain independence through education and life skills. It's part of its ongoing Share the Love charitable campaign that also benefits Salk Elementary School and Lake County Animal Control locally and the National Parks nationally.

Michigan-based Zeigler Automotive Group acquired International Subaru of Merrillville at 1777 W. U.S. 30 in Merrillville in 2021, changing the name to Zeigler Subaru of Merrillville.
The company operates more than 84 franchises across 41 locations in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin, including several in the Chicago metropolitan area. It bought Zeigler Subaru of Fort Wayne and Zeigler Subaru of Lafayette from Rohrman Automotive Group. It also operates Ziegler Subaru of Kenosha up in Wisconsin.
Zeigler Auto Group dates back to 1975 and employs more than 2,500 people. The family-owned dealership ranks in the top 1% of automotive dealers nationally with annual sales of more than $2.2 billion last year.
