Man walks his dog through the cold dressed as a Stormtrooper from Hoth
It's so cold in Houston that it can feel like living on Hoth, the planet where the rebel alliance battled the empire in "The Empire Strikes Back."For Brandon Crismon, the dangerously icy conditions were reason enough to wear his Hoth Stormtrooper ensemble while walking his dog in Houston this week."It's a bit funny to me how people react over a bit of snow here, compared to states that get this all the time," Crismon told Chron.com. "I thought the complete overkill of the Hoth trooper would be pretty funny, and hey, it's not every day I get to actually take a picture with snow."Crismon has the "Star Wars" outfit because he builds replica movie props as a hobby. You may have seen Crismon driving around if you've spotted a Jurassic Park inspired-jeep on Houston roads. His current project is building a Ghostbusters proton pack.A love for movies at an early age led Crismon to learning how to build movie props. One of his early inspirations was seeing someone drive a Batmobile inspired from the Adam West era when he was a kid. Since then, he's turned movie props into a passion.Crismon said the 501st Legion's South Texas Squad visited Daniel Fleetwood of Spring in 2015, the terminally-ill "Star Wars" fan whose last wish was to see "The Force Awakens.""I’m a member of the 501st Legion, a charity costuming club that works with LucasFilm to do great things like Make-A-Wish visits, visiting children’s hospitals, and that kind of thing," Crismon said. "If you ever see Vader and his troops around Houston, come say hi. And yes, of course we’ll take a picture with you!"As for his dog, who accompanied him on his walk, the Stormtrooper said the pooch didn't appear to mind the Hoth-like conditions."Little Buddy seems to be in heaven out there for some reason. As long as he’s happy, I’m happy."
