Dejan Lovren and Sadio Mane are used to fielding questions from journalists - but the Liverpool stars faced a different kind of grilling this week.

The Liverpool duo visited the Mab Lane primary to meet the pupils of the school earlier this week and were asked a series of questions from the youngsters.

The questions included hobbies away from the game and their childhood idols.

And despite previously naming El-Hadji Diouf as his footballing hero, Senegal international Mane plumped for the recently-retired Brazil legend , Ronaldinho.

"My idol was Ronaldinho," Mane told the pupils.

"I always aspired to be like him because he was a great player, one of the best in history, and I just loved the way he played."

Lovren revealed he was a keen tennis player when asked if he played any other sports away from football.

"My hobby is tennis outside of football," Lovren said. "So when I have time I just enjoy playing tennis with friends. I also sometimes play ping-pong."

The meet-and-greet was put together by the club after the players were stopped from giving autographs to fans outside of Melwood for health and safety reasons.

It's an obligation the players are more than happy to fulfil.

Mane told Liverpoolfc.com : "Honestly you can see it in their face! They are like 'wow!'

"And like I say, it is always good to give them a smile and that is what we try to do."

Lovren added: "It's a good part of the day to visit the schools around Liverpool and it is a pleasure to be here.

"It's a pleasure to hear these interesting questions. It is a dream come true for some of the pupils to meet their idols.

"You're giving them the message that they should follow their dream."
