In memory of Isabelle Kuehl

1944-ISABELLE KUEHL-2017

Isabelle “Izzy” Versa Kuehl, the daughter of Arden and Elsie (Edwards) Koch, was born on April 26, 1944 in Cherokee, IA. At age 15, her family moved to Slayton, MN where her parents owned and operated a shoe repair shop. She attended Slayton High School graduating in 1962. Izzy was united in marriage to Gary Kuehl on December 21, 1965. After their marriage, they lived in the Twin Cities for one year before moving to an acreage near Kinbrae, MN and raised their family. Izzy was a truck dispatcher over the years, working for Swiftlines Co., Trumpet Transport, and Sather’s. Izzy passed away on August 23, 2017 at Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, MN at the age of 73. Izzy’s hobbies included quilting, knitting, sewing, playing piano, and traveling. She was an avid Vikings and Timberwolves fan. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren playing card games and putting together puzzles.

Survivors include her husband, Gary, of Worthington, MN; two children, Sherry (Dan) Koster, Dundee, MN and Perry Kuehl, Duluth, MN; five grandchildren, Kyle (Sarah) Koster, Jessica Koster, Cody Koster, Landin Heinlen, and Levi Kuehl; two great grandchildren, Kaleb and Ellie Mae Koster; one brother, Arthur (Karleen) Koch of Inver Grove Heights, MN, and a very dear friend, Elaine Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Tammy.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Gary Andersen officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Kyle Koster, Jessica Koster, Cody Koster, Landin Heinlen, Levi Kuehl, Sarah Anderson, and Steve Kass.
